For Mercedes Azpilicueta’s first solo exhibition in Scotland, Collective presents an installation featuring a monumental tapestry with an accompanying soundscape, alongside choreography drawings, and elements to be worn or carried as part of a special live performance on 22 August.

From Buenos Aires and now based in Amsterdam, Azpilicueta’s work explores care and resistance, revealing overlooked female histories.

The tapestry’s rich and layered collage of archival and contemporary imagery references war, food economies, collective action, and women-led global rights movements. The live performance will connect the themes of the tapestry to the histories of Collective’s site on Calton…
