For nature writer Neil Ansell, author of the Wainwright Prize and Highland Book Prize shortlisted The Circling Sky, progressive hearing loss was a spur to hunt down nature’s rarest and most beautiful sounds while he still can, as documented in his new book The Edge of Silence.
