The New York Times called Cambridge economist Partha Dasgupta ‘the most important person you’ve never heard of’. Responsible for the fundamental shift in how we now approach the economics of biodiversity, he’s the author of a report commissioned by the UK Government setting out ways we must account for nature in economic decision-making. Today, he discusses his groundbreaking book On Natural Capital, advocating for why nature should be given the same economic value as the resources we extract from it. Chaired by Paul Behrens.
