A multi-generational company of Edinburgh-based women perform four of Alan Bennett’s iconic Talking Heads monologues: A Lady of Letters, A Bed Among the Lentils, Her Big Chance and Cream Cracker Under the Settee. With wit, poignancy and emotional precision, each actor brings a distinctive voice to Bennett’s portraits of loneliness, quiet desperation and resilient humour. Though rooted in the 1970s and 80s, these sharply observed character studies remain strikingly relevant. Simply and sensitively staged, this production offers an intimate, moving and often unexpectedly funny exploration of women’s lives, seen anew through an intergenerational lens.
