Women’s sexuality is often missing from the history books, but reading between the lines can reveal a lot about how female pleasure has been controlled, misunderstood, and set free over the centuries. Today, the Festival brings together three writers who’ve been thinking deeply about the role of sex in women’s stories: Flick author Kate Lister, Aphrodisia author Jean Menzies, and Ashley Douglas, the historian uncovering Scotland’s 16th-century Sappho in With My Own Hand.
