From their early days as late-70s Glasgow post-punks to the international success of ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’, bassist Derek Forbes was a key player in Simple Minds’ first decade. Having also recorded and performed with Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Big Country, Kirsty MacColl, and many others, the Scottish music icon arrives at the Festival brimming with anecdotes from his autobiography, A Very Simple Mind. He’ll even bring his guitar for a song or two. Chaired by Fiona Shepherd.
