Agnes Owens was a writer’s writer, beloved by all from James Kelman to Liz Lochhead for her guileless prose and mastery of what Ali Smith called the ‘deadpan gothic’. In her centenary year, publisher Birlinn introduce Owens to a new generation of readers with special editions of her most-loved books.
