The opposite of war isn’t peace – it’s creation. Jonathan Larson’s rock musical Rent follows 525,600 minutes in the lives of young artists in 1990s New York. Amid poverty, eviction, addiction and the AIDS crisis, a community fights to keep creating. Rent chooses love, art and defiance over despair.
