At the age of 14, Tari Lang’s life took a turbulent turn when both of her parents were imprisoned without trial during Indonesia’s 1965 coup. In My Neighbour, The Dictator, Lang provides a touching portrait of navigating crushes and curfews as a teenager, against the backdrop of dictatorship and tyranny. She joins us to discuss coming of age in the midst of a volatile environment, and how she found herself caught between wide-eyed adolescence and revolution. Chaired by Zinnie Harris.
