Compassion is at the heart of community, something which social entrepreneur, healthcare academic, and author Dr Marti Balaam has nurtured in Edinburgh since 2019 with her uplifting literary salon, celebrating literature that focuses on empathy and wellbeing. The Compassion Salon is a space for people to connect and reflect on what it is to be human. Today’s event, in partnership with Edinburgh Medical School 300, features writer and GP Gavin Francis, poet Hollie McNish, and Edinburgh’s Makar Michael Pedersen.
