For EAF25, Orcadian artist Brandon Logan presents an intimate collection of his paintings.

The works, curated for the domestic spaces at Bard, appear to float inconceivably away from the wall. Each work, created by flooding layered warps of string with paint, are imbued with Logan’s process involving the gradual sealing and fusing of materials, transforming liquid colour into solid form.

Rooted in the landscapes of Stromness, Logan’s palette draws from Orkney’s environment and culture, yet channels a new queer take on minimal abstraction. As Logan puts it, “it is like magic to me every time” — a transformation of material that speaks both to personal obsession and cultural memory.

Access

This exhibition will take place on the ground floor of Bard at Custom Lane.

There is one small step up to Bard’s front entrance, with some uneven cobbled ground outside the venue.
