Three visiting poets reading their work at Typewronger!
Charlie Baylis is from Nottingham. His poetry has been nominated three times for the Pushcart Prize & once for the Forward Prize. He is studying for a PhD in literary translation at the University of Nottingham. His Spanish translations have been commended in the Stephen Spender Prize. His first collection of poetry is ‘a fondness for the colour green’ (Broken Sleep Books, 2023). In his spare time he plays chess, supports Nottingham Forest and edits the poetry journal Anthropocene.
Ginny Darke m is a Welsh writer based in Bristol, U.K. Her poetry has been shortlisted for the Foyle Young Poets award (2018) and the Creative Futures award (2019, 2020). Her work has been published with Poetry Northern Ireland, Anthropocene, The Remnant Archive, AI Literary Review and Ink, Sweat and Tears.
Zain Rishi is a writer and bookseller based in Edinburgh. He won Third Prize in the 2024 Oxford Poetry Prize and is a Young Poets Network prizewinner. His work has appeared in Fourteen Poems, Horizon, Gutter and Anthropocene. His debut pamphlet NOON is forthcoming from The Emma Press in 2026.
