What could an archive dedicated to trans masc narratives become?

Join Ellis Jackson Kroese, the artist behind Trans Masc Studies, for a relaxed morning launch of Memory Is A Museum, an ongoing research project into masculine-leaning gender diversity in Scotland. Through weaving together internet-based relics, local collaborations, and the generous contributions of the Scottish trans masculine community, the work questions whose stories are made visible.

Jackson Kroese’s work will be brought to life by performer, experimental mover and trans activist Adam Kashmiry. Kashmiry is the star of and inspiration behind National Theatre of Scotland multi-award winning theatre production, and Bafta-winning film Adam, the remarkable story of a young trans man and his struggle across genders and borders to be himself.

Cases of archive material, an exhibition zine, and wearable artworks, will be on display in the EAF25 Welcome Space throughout the Festival, to be absorbed and taken home — visitors become custodians; the museum expands; memory moves, lives, persists.

! Includes modern and historic archive material. Some material contains insensitive language around trans lives.
