The Book Fringe and the Fringe of Colour

The Book Fringe programme has been announced! As of now not all of the events are online (yet to go up are the events at Greenhouse Records, who are co-hosting with Lighthouse and Argonaut Books this year) but I didn’t want to wait, so all those events that are up you can now find on the site.

The caveat applies that, whereas all the other listing data on the site comes from the excellent Edinburgh Festivals Listings API, they do not cover the Book Fringe, so I have to gather these events myself. (Hopefully I’ve managed to do that without introducing too many errors, but I find that it’s always worth being skeptical of my abilities.)

If you don’t know the Book Fringe, it’s a lively bookshop-run alternative literary festival and you should add it to your Festival diet. (I am particularly a fan of the lunchtime events at Lighthouse Books, which are all free to attend, but it is all extremely worth exploring.)

Speaking of admirable Festival endeavours, every year Fringe of Colour creates a database to highlight events that centre People of Colour.

I made a list to make it easy to browse the events in their database, and I’ve added a filter, so anywhere you see an events table you can limit it to those shows that feature.

That said, there’s information in their database that I can’t include, so go and check it out directly as well.
